Knowlewood Knap: Holy Communion 5th August 10.00am in the day room. Hyde Place: Holy Communion 7th August at 10.00am in the day room. Anyone may go along to these services especially if you feel that you are unable to access Holy Rood Church for the services there.
Prayer for the Parish: A informal time of prayer for the work and life of the parish takes place on 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Thursdays at 7.00pm, lasting half an hour.
READINGS 3rd August: 11th after Trinity Genesis 32.22-31 Romans 9.1-5 Matthew 14.21-11 God feeds all who come to him hungry, and we, as the Church, are expected to share in that work.
10th August: 12th after Trinity Genesis 37.1-4, 12-28 Romans 10.5-15 Matthew 14.22-33 God is faithful to us through all the storms of life, yet our faith in God is so very small.
17th August: 13th after Trinity Genesis 45.1-15 Romans 11.1-2a, 29-32 Matthew 15.21-28 The good news of salvation is not limited to a particular group or nation but is available for the whole world.
24th August: 14th after Trinity Exodus 1.8-2.10 Romans 12.1-8 Matthew 16.13-20 The Church is the Body of Christ, built on strong rock of faith and energised by the living Breath of God.
31st August: 15th after Trinity Exodus 3.1-15 Romans 12.9-21 Matthew 16.21-28 As Jesus prepares for the necessary suffering of the cross, he is tempted, through well-meaning friendship, to avoid it.
