Readings On 7th October our Family Worship focuses on disability and then we continue our series of sermons in preparation for the Parish Workshop on Saturday 27th October “Discerning our Vision for the Future”. On Sunday 28th October we reflect back on the outcomes of the previous day, with readings that remind us of our dependence on God.
7th October 18th After Trinity Luke 14.12-24 Today is designated Disability Sunday. The Family Worship reading reminds us that all are welcome at the heavenly banquet, including the disadvantaged and marginalised.
14th October 19th After Trinity Isaiah 56.1-8 Acts 2.42-47 John 17.20-end When church really works, this is how it looks!
21st October 20th After Trinity Genesis 3.8-10 Philippians 4.1-7 Luke 6.12-16 Turning dreams into reality: it may be daunting but God equips those he calls.
28th October Last Sunday After Trinity Joel 2.23-32 2 Timothy 4.6-8, 16-18 Luke 18.9-14 When we recognise our dependence on God we will approach him with joy and accept his gifts with joy.
Family Worship7th October at 10.00am
This is an informal, non-Eucharistic, service for people of all ages, both young and old. But we would particularly encourage those with young families to come along and join with us. The service will last about an hour and there will be refreshments afterwards, and an opportunity to meet with other people. Next month, Family Worship will be on 4th November at 10.00am. |
