Family Worship

Our next Family Worship will be 4th February at 10.00am.

This is a less formal, non-Eucharistic, service for people of all ages, both young and old.

But we would particularly encourage those with young families to come along and join with us.

The service will last about an hour and there will be refreshments afterwards, and an opportunity to meet with other people.

Joint Covenant Service - Holy Rood 11.00am 14th January

From the earliest days of the Methodist Societies, John Wesley invited the Methodist people to renew their covenant relationship with God.

This is an opportunity for all of us to renew our covenant relationship with God.

Printed below is the Covenant Prayer we will say together at the service

Come along and join with us and afterwards for a ‘Bring and Share Lunch’ in the School Hall.

The Methodist Covenant Prayer

I am no longer my own but yours.
Put me to what you will,
rank me with whom you will;
put me to doing, put me to suffering;
let me be employed for you or laid aside for you,
exalted for you or brought low for you;
let me be full, let me be empty,
let me have all things, let me have nothing;
I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to your pleasure and disposal.

And now, glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
you are mine and I am yours.
So be it.
And the covenant made on earth,
let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Wool Churches Together 3.00 pm St. Joseph’s, Sunday 21st January

He even makes the deaf to hear and the mute to speak’. Mark 7:37

This year the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity brings together two themes, two invitations to Christina Churches and people, to pray and strive together for Christian Unity, and to join together in responding to human suffering.

These two responsibilities are deeply intertwined, both relate to healing the body of Christ, hence the text chosen for this years Week of prayer for Christian Unity is a story of healing.
