Harvest Supper 2010
There was a full Village Hall for the Holy Rood Harvest Ploughman's Supper on
October 9th.

But first, the programme started with several songs from Wool Community
Choir, who gave a splendid performance that was much appreciated by the
audience.

We are fortunate to have Mr Ebb Williams, Master Baker (of "Williams of
Wool"), as a member of our congregation and former Churchwarden. He gave a
fascinating demonstration showing how a Harvest Sheaf loaf is made.

Ebb Williams assisted by a volunteer from the audience
(Jenny Mitchell) - adding the ears of corn to the sheaf . .

. . . pausing briefly to toast the late Keith Floyd .
. .

. . . and didn't it go well?!

The final result, displayed alongside one of Mr Williams' more traditional
loaves, was a beautiful sight in Holy Rood Church the next day.

Our 3 Year Plan:
Each year the Parochial Church Council spends time listening to one another
and to God to discern our priorities for the future. We divide this into three
areas while recognising there is a significant overlap between them.
Some of the main items in each area are listed below.
We will send a copy of the full Plan to everyone attending the Away Day so
you have more time to reflect on it as background to some of our discussions

Christingle Service - Tuesday 7th December at 5.00pm

Christingle services bring together family and friends of all ages. The
Children’s Society holds its special Christingle appeal each year to raise vital
funds for the children facing life’s harshest challenges. Children who may find
themselves sleeping rough this winter; or fleeing conflict and war; caught in a
cycle of crime; or marginalised due to a disability. The funds raised from
Christingle help us to shine light into the darkness of their lives.
This year’s service is at Holy Rood Church, Wool, on Tuesday, 7th
December at 5.00pm
