Amy's 80 years of serviceMrs. Amy Guppy celebrated her 89th birthday on 11th January 2006. She has been a Church Organist for no less than 80 years, having first played for a service just before her 9th birthday. Several local churches have benefited from her expertise since, including most recently Holy Rood. Thank you and congratulations, Amy!

Sadly, some of us were on holiday that week (which makes anyone like me who missed it, rather jealous of those who got there!). Thank you so much, Alan: the total raised, was £355 on the door, for Holy Rood Church Building Fund, and £50.50p on the raffle - which was donated to Kids Of Wool (KOW).
New (third) Tea Pot Club - with Fairtrade Stall - 17th MarchThe new Tea Pot Club started life at at 11 High Street Close, on Friday 17th March at 2.30pm - see further information below ("Fair Trade Fortnight"). Pat Beviss hopes to continue to run this stall stocking Fairtrade goods and future meetings are going to be at 11 High Street Close, on these dates:

Original Tea Pot ClubGren Irwin will be holding regular afternoon meetings, at 23 Hillside Road, on:

The Second Tea Pot Club is going strong. It's held at Knowlewood Knap on the first Tuesday of the month at 10.30am after the Communion Service in the Day Room.
Looking for Lent Services and Lent Groups?Wonderful - we would love to see you there. This year Ash Wednesday falls on 1st March, Good Friday on 14th April and Easter Sunday on 16th April. The Lent Services, starting in March, are on the March Services page. The Lent Groups also start in March and are further down the same page. (April, and Easter, Services are to follow.)
Wareham Town Band Concert on Saturday evening, 18th MarchThe D'Urberville Hall was full as we enjoyed our local band in concert. (The singing and clapping was of even higher standard after the meal and drinks half way through!) Proceeds were an excellent total of £639 and will go to the Building Fund. the money will be needed to buy a new boiler after the events of the last few weeks.
As can be seen, a good time was had by all.
