PAST EVENTS
Harvest Supper 2005Our 2005 Harvest Supper was held on Friday evening 7th October in East Burton Village Hall. As promised, the music (both folk, and 60's/70's) came from Hambury Tout (ably presented by Bob Naylor and the rest of the team, mainly from the adjacent benefice of Lulworth, Winfrith, and the Chaldons). We enjoyed a hot Harvest Supper, and appreciated Bob's jokes (well, the new ones anyway!) - and for the reasonable price of £7.50 it was not only a great evening out but was able to benefit WaterAid, our 2005 Harvest Charity. Hambury Tout really do get better and better and after the fun and exuberance, the last piece (a beautifully harmonious blessing) made a very special ending. Thank you, Hambury Tout. A total of £545.00 was raised to be divided between Water Aid and the Building Fund. Additional donations to Water Aid meant we were able to send a total of £637.50. Also many thanks to Wool First School who hosted a soup lunch for pupils and governors and raised £99.00 for the Water Aid Appeal And for anyone who missed it, here is a small sample from the Harvest Supper - sadly, without the delicious food (and without sound):

Coffee Morning Friday 2nd DecemberIn September we asked "How long can the coffee morning drought go on?!". (I knew writing that was a big mistake when I typed it in.) However, despite having had half the average December rainfall in 24 hours, lots of people still loyally turned up; and despite getting a bit damp here and there, £215 was raised. Thank you - especially thanks to Judy and to all those who helped you.
Christmas Quiz Night 9th DecemberRemember that one in September? -
Well, due to popular demand - that is we all had such a good time! - there was a Christmas Quiz on Friday 9th December at Wool First School. It was even better than the one before. The questions were not only topical, but ever so slightly easier too. (One day I will remember the names of all those reindeer . . ) Glen and Jennie did a great job once more, and the table decorations were amazing! The proceeds went towards a sound system to play tapes and CD’s in church. (Why, do you ask, if it was so wonderful, are there no pictures? - er, well, I forgot to take my camera - very sorry!)
Christmas Services 2005Thank you to Judy and Bruce, and Sunday School for the Christmas Morning nativity story, and everyone who worked so hard to give us such a wide range of services over Christmas. We do appreciate you all.

Christmas Flowers 2005What a beautiful result from decorating the church on Friday 23rd December. Thank you all - the flowers looked wonderful and were a real enhancement to our Christmas worship.
