Holy Rood Church Fete - Saturday 9th July 2005
Did we have a fete? - we certainly did! And if you missed it,
here is a glimpse:

What a glorious day it was - we thank all those who came to support us and
all of the Stallholders who lined the Close tempting people to spend their
money, again thank you all. Grateful thanks to those who made private donations
to the fund, and donated prizes for the games and raffles. The local amenities
and firms who made a contribution to the raffle are listed below and if you can
also support them in their business it would be appreciated. They are:
Bishops Restaurant, Lulworth

Frampton Arms, Moreton
Holme Nurseries, West Holme Farm, Wareham
Janes, Hairdressers, Wool
Monkey World, Wool

Where would we have been without the helpers: those who put up the bunting
and took it down again, those who collected the tables, erected them, and took
them back, the sign painter, who erected and collected them afterwards and to
all those who offered to make things and help, which we gratefully accepted,
thank you. Jim, we offer our many thanks for what you did for us (you will know
who we mean).
To date the money raised from the Church Fete for the manufacture and
erection of the porch gates is in excess of £2,000, final total to follow, what
a wonderful amount of money.

Coffee Morning - 9th August 2005
Once again (how long can the coffee morning drought go on?!)
our prayers for a beautiful sunny day were answered; lots of people came; and a
very impressive total of £235 was raised for the Building Fund - so praise the
Lord (and well done Gren - and the Teapot Club!).

Quiz Night - Friday 9th September 2005 in the
School Hall
A good time was had by all (especially anyone who knew anything
about Ice Hockey, could say who uses gentles and coops, and who knew the name of
someone who played for Portsmouth apart of course from Admiral Lord Nelson):

Thank you, Jenny and Glenn Hunt, (centre above sitting at the
back behind their desk) for some great questions and for putting in a lot of
hard work to create them (Torquemada had nothing on you two!) and for raising
£125.
