Knowlewood Knap: Holy Communion 4th October at 10.00am in the Day Room.
Hyde Place: Holy Communion 13th October at 10.00am in the Day Room.
Anyone may go along to these services especially if you feel that you are unable to access Holy Rood Church for the services there.
Prayer for the Parish An informal time for prayer for the church and parish held in Holy Rood Church on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month, 7.00pm-7.30pm.
Home Communion for the sick and housebound If you or anyone you know is unable to come to any of the services, and would like to receive communion at home, please let me know, and I will arrange for a member of the Pastoral Team to visit. Rhona
Hospital Visiting If you know of someone in hospital who would appreciate a visit from a representative of Holy Rood Church, do please let me know. We have no way of knowing who is in hospital unless you let us know. It doesn’t matter if they are not regular churchgoers. Rhona
Harvest Thanksgiving Service, Lunch & Dorset Apple Cake Competition Our Harvest Thanksgiving Service will be at 11.00am on Sunday 9th October. It will be followed by a Lunch in the School Hall. We will be asking you to make a Harvest offering in the form of an item on the Lunch Menu displayed at the back of church. There will also be a Dorset Apple Cake competition for everyone to enter. More information from Jill Gover and André Sargent. Invite your friends and neighbours to join in with the celebrations. Proceeds to the Disaster Emergencies Committee Appeal for Somalia and the Horn of Africa.
New Evening Fellowship Groups Our new Evening Fellowship Groups meet weekly at 7.30-9.00pm for exploration of the Christian faith, fellowship and prayer in an informal setting.
The Monday Group, led by Judy Hill & Brenda Edwards, alternates between 18 The Poppies, Purbeck Gate, and 23 Hillside Road. More information from Judy Hill (462888).
The Wednesday Group, led by Chris Corteen and John Underwood, starts on 12th October, alternating between “Pippins”, Giddy Green Lane and 11, Lawrence View. More information from Chris Corteen (462642).
Afternoon Home Group Meets fortnightly on Thursdays for study, prayer and fellowship at 3 Lampton Close. More information from John Matthews (462128).
